Entrepreneurs, business leaders and government officials from across Clearfield, Jefferson and Elk counties attended a tax credit seminar on June 20 in the DEF Building at Penn State DuBois. Hosted by the North Central PA LaunchBox and the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission, the event was well attended by those interested in information on the Tri-County Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ) and benefits available to entrepreneurs through the KIZ in Clearfield, Jefferson and Elk counties. Penn State DuBois celebrated small business owners as well as aspiring entrepreneurs on Wednesday in celebration of Startup Week, April 1-5. The program “So, You Want to Start a Business” held in the student union featured a panel of small business experts from around the region. University awards $200,000 in Invent Penn State seed grants to four campuses

As part of its Invent Penn State initiative, Penn State today (Feb. 5) announced four new seed grants, each valued at $50,000, designed to bolster entrepreneurship and economic development in communities surrounding Penn State campuses across the Commonwealth. Fairman Family Foundation first to support LaunchBox Initiative

DuBOIS – With a $25,000 gift, the Fairman Family Foundation Endowment for the North Central PA LaunchBox Powered by Penn State DuBois has been established. This makes the Fairman Family Foundation the inaugural donor to support this initiative, with other donors in line to make similar commitments. Funding from the endowment will be used to support the North Central PA LaunchBox and Innovation Collaborative, programming and activities.
